Rebranding Process A Success – Riverview Ravens
In 2019, Riverview High School started a rebranding process to develop a singular brand for all school teams and clubs. This process involved several focus groups with students, parents, volunteers, coaches, staff, and alumni, as well as a call for submissions for names and logo ideas. More than 100 entries were submitted by students and staff, with two names being selected by students for short-listing: Ravens and Fusion. With a vote from over 900 students held on September 17th and 18th and a 68% majority, the student body decided that Ravens will be Riverview High School's new brand.
Principal Joe Chisholm stated "As a former student-athlete, teacher, and current principal of Riverview Rural High School, I am pleased to report that we have completed the rebranding process. Although we had many reasons that influenced our decision to look for a new brand, we knew it was time for our students and our community to influence the rebranding process. This took some time but it afforded us the chance to get input from a variety of community stakeholders. Riverview's School Advisory Council voiced their preference that the final steps of the process be student driven and now we can happily announce that the students have wholeheartedly chosen Ravens as the school's new brand. The school would like to thank all those who provided advice and input. Go Ravens! "
The Centre for Education acknowledges the tremendous work of the School and School community in the rebranding process.
